Advantech, the leading embedded platform and total solutions provider, today launched MIO-2262 based around the Intel® Atom™ N2600 1.6GHz /N2800 1.86GHz dual core processor. In a 2.5” MI/O-Ultra form factor (Pico-ITX) fanless design, MIO-2262 measures only 100 x 72 mm (same as a 2.5” Hard Disk) with all I/O functions coming from internal connectors (no rear I/O coastline) which gives it maximum flexibilty for compact system integration, making it a perfect fit for power saving applications. It also allows for more capable development using less resources by expanding specific I/O functions onto the carrier board to fulfill a multitude of vertical applications more efficiently.

Fully Cableless Flexible Design
MIO-2262 represents a flexible, modularized design solution through its internal connectors via Advantech's innovative MIOe interface. By connecting with two 64P internal expansion connectors and MIOe connectors, system integrators benefit from maximum flexible I/O choices to fulfill different vertical applications, whilst making the whole system fully cableless and ultra slim. MIO-2262 integrates several interfaces including 7 x USB2.0, 2 x COM, 12V DC input, HD Audio Line-in/out, 8-bit GPIO, SMBus, I2C, 2 PCIe x1, DisplayPort or HDMI, VGA, Inverter, Power/Reset button, Power/HDD LED, as well as 5Vsb/12Vsb Power signal. Advantech provides a reference design guide and testing evaluation board (MIOe-DB2000) to help customers design their carrier board in a simpler way, as well as giving technical support and debugging service during development. This cost effective board to board cableless solution expedites development and achieves a slim, compact system design with good thermal throughput, without compromising customers’ core domain know-how.

Ultra Low Power & Reliability Enhancement Design
MIO-2262 is embedded with Intel® Atom™ N2600 1.6GHz/ N2800 1.86GHz dual core processors with NM10 chipset and DDR3 memory up 4 GB. The power consumption at full load on MIO-2262 is only 8 to 9.8 Watts. The fanless design makes MIO-2262 more reliable, and gives it a longer MTBF, without dust or noise issues. MIO-2262 features a single 12V DC power input design with a +/- 10% tolerance. For high reliability and endurance in extreme environments, Advantech’s MIO-2262 is designed with a high-level, industrial-grade ESD COM port driver IC (15KV air protection/8KV contact protection for RS-232), 100% solid capacitors with better MTBF compared to electrolytic capacitors, TG-150 PCB type that allows the PCB to endure higher temperatures, and TVS (Transient Voltage Suppressor) design on the power input side to protect MIO-2262 from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient voltage events. Industrial Cloud Services Built-in with SUSIAccess
MIO-2262 directly supports Advantech’s latest Industrial Cloud-based Services through SUSIAccess. SUSIAccess allows customers to monitor and remotely control embedded devices in real-time. Services include remote device monitoring, machine switching, remote desktop connection, system protection and recovery; all of which help customers to manage multiple terminal devices through a single console. Software programs in the industrial cloud immediately grasp an equipment malfunction, process real-time maintenance, and enable system security protection mechanisms. These remote operations significantly improve maintenance efficiency and reduce resource demands on personnel and time, whilst its active update feature also improves system stability and efficiency.
